photographer’s Profile

Born in the historic city of Canterbury, Brett now resides in the quiet village of Beltinge, Nr. Herne Bay on  Kents north-east coast.  Brett spent many of his childhood years chasing around in the surrounding countryside looking for all manor of wildlife encounters and now has turned his childhood hobby into a full-time career.

Brett qualified in 2003 with a bachelor of science (BSc) degree in Biodiversity Conservation & Management from the Durrell Institute of Conservation and Ecology before taking up his role as a freelance Consultant Ecologist. Brett was then offered the chance, in 2005, to undertake a master of science (MSc) degree by research, again at the Durrell Institute.

Brett’s photographic interests are based predominantly with British wildlife and landscapes, but his camera is usually with him wherever he travels. Brett’s career provides many opportunities to get close to some very cryptic wildlife species and some chance encounters with others. In short, he is one of those lucky people in life that loves his job and enjoys recording those encounters through the art of photography.
